Hello everyone,

I have a fairly specific question regarding IKEA KALLAX shelves: Are there any special wedge feet or adjustable feet available that allow you to securely and stably level the shelf on an uneven or sloping floor?

I want to set up a KALLAX shelf in my apartment, but unfortunately, the floor is not perfectly even. There are slight irregularities that could cause the shelf to wobble. Therefore, I am looking for suitable solutions to compensate for this issue.

Perhaps some of you know of compatible wedge feet, special IKEA accessories, or third-party alternatives that fit KALLAX or similar shelves and provide stable support even on uneven surfaces?

I look forward to your experiences and tips!

Hello!

As far as I know, IKEA does not offer direct wedge feet for KALLAX. However, you can use adjustable screw furniture glides, which lift the shelf and level it out. Smaller washers can also help.

Hello tagaston60,

You’re addressing a common issue, as many homes don’t have perfectly level floors. IKEA KALLAX shelves come with small feet or plastic gliders by default, but these are not height adjustable.

I recommend either purchasing adjustable furniture feet from third-party suppliers that can be screwed onto the underside. There are special threaded feet that allow you to adjust the height with millimeter precision. Alternatively, adjustable felt gliders with screw threads, often available at hardware stores, also work well.

In general, you need a solution that lets you compensate for uneven flooring without compromising stability.

One more tip: If you don’t want to screw into your KALLAX shelf, small self-adhesive pads made of foam rubber or cork might help—but these only compensate for minor differences.

If you like, I can provide more detailed sources for adjustable feet. 🙂

You hit the nail on the head! 🙂

I recently had the same problem with a KALLAX at my place. I simply ordered small adjustable furniture feet that are really easy to attach. They aren’t from IKEA, but from a hardware store, and fit perfectly.

Thanks to their flexible adjustability, you can easily compensate for uneven floors, and the shelf stands rock solid. After adjusting, you hardly notice anymore that the floor is uneven.

Fun fact: you could almost say the shelves are doing little yoga exercises to cope with sloping floors ;-)

I’m curious to see if you decide to go with this solution!
