Hello everyone, I recently bought several IKEA Brimnes furniture pieces and unfortunately noticed that some of them do not stand completely flat. Specifically, they wobble or tilt despite being assembled correctly, which I find somewhat confusing after thoroughly reviewing the assembly instructions and checking all fixing points. Has anyone experienced similar issues or even has suggestions on how to sustainably improve the stability and flatness of the BRIMNES furniture? Whether it involves specific adjustments to the furniture itself, the assembly process, or possibly modifications to the materials – I would appreciate any advice, even if it is just theoretical.

This tilting issue often occurs when the floor is uneven. Make sure to place small felt pads or furniture wedges under the legs. Additionally, leveling the legs using a spirit level can help. If the furniture itself is warped, a replacement through IKEA might be appropriate.

It is important to carefully inspect the subfloor. Unevenness in the ground often causes wobbling. Additionally, I recommend checking the screws and joints again, as loosely tightened components can affect stability. If the frame is warped, targeted adjustments with clamps can help before considering a return or exchange process. Alternatively, suitable furniture pads can be used to level the surface.

I definitely did that; the floor is absolutely level – at least according to the spirit level and measuring device. The screws are tightened properly, I deliberately checked multiple times. So far, I have only noticed a slight unevenness on the back side; the furniture seems slightly warped along one edge.

An exchange is a bit difficult in my current case since the furniture is no longer in the original packaging and I have already assembled it in the living space. Has anyone here had experience with how to correct a slight twist or distortion of the cabinet without fully disassembling it? I am looking for a practical, possibly DIY interim solution.

I can understand the issue and wonder whether mechanical deformation of BRIMNES furniture is really that common, or if the problem in some cases is due to incorrect assembly or design flaws. If the floor is definitely level and the screws are tight, I would suspect that some parts were slightly warped during manufacturing. An interim solution could be to use small wooden or rubber shims to adjust the pressure on the cabinet, reducing the stress that causes warping. However, this requires some fine-tuning and is not a standard fix. Alternatively, you could consider adding internal braces to increase rigidity. At the same time, it is important to document what IKEA says during complaints to be able to refer back to warranty claims if necessary.
