Hello everyone,

Has anyone had experience with the additional costs to expect for installing a shower in a guest bathroom within a turnkey home build?

Assumptions:

  • Additional costs for design changes to the floor plan are not considered; starting size of the guest bathroom: 3 sq meters (32 sq ft)
  • Basic standard fixtures (No walk-in shower, mid-range fittings)
  • No additional heated towel rail (Only the existing underfloor heating; the shower is intended for quick use: quick in, quick dry, quick out)

Thank you for your feedback.

We were quoted an additional cost of 1200€.
However, this means giving up one square meter in the utility room...

We paid a similar additional cost as Häusle77 for the floor-level shower in the ground floor guest bathroom. I believe this definitely varies depending on the provider.

The approximate amount of 1200 euros was also offered to us by 3 builders. That is about right.

One should keep in mind:
if the building supervisor/site manager or the building authority requires 3000, then you cannot change that just because others only want 1200 😉

At least you have a reference value.
