Hello,

I am new to this forum and also a new homeowner 🙂

We have purchased a semi-detached house from the 1960s in Wedel/Hamburg, which we are now going to renovate.

Since I have read a book about electrical work before (I work in IT), I will be doing part of the electrical wiring/installation myself.

Now my question is, where is the best place to get all these materials? Unfortunately, my old supplier has passed away—rest in peace, "Kurzschluss-Bernard."

The usual materials, such as:

- Cables
- Switches/outlets with frames, etc.
- Flush-mounted boxes, etc.
- Installation materials like WAGO connectors, etc.
- Fuses and a fuse box (don’t worry, I will have the fuses and the box wired and inspected by a professional)

Is there a wholesaler near Hamburg or Wedel where you can buy these kinds of items “as an individual”? If necessary, I could register a business.

I already checked a hardware store yesterday, but they only had switches/outlets from a manufacturer I had never heard of… that’s a bit inconvenient if you want to buy matching parts in five years or so.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Best regards,
Benny

From the electrical contractor who will also perform the final inspection?

Thanks for the information 🙂

@hbf12 He is an old university mate of mine, so I don’t want to bother him too much...
