Fingerprint: entrasys vs. ekey

The two most well-known fingerprint systems for front doors are entrasys and ekey.

Does anyone have experience with both systems and can share their opinion on which system is better?

Currently, ekey is (still) not very user-friendly with multiple scanners when using the current series. They clearly developed it without fully considering the actual needs. However, ekey works very well on its own, as long as you don’t use the old line scanners.

That’s not entirely correct. The NET version works perfectly with multiple scanners but is oversized for single-family homes. Unfortunately, the new generation of scanners is currently not available with RFID.

That’s why I didn’t mention it; this is about a front door. Based on experience, the average homeowner might want to expand it by 1–2 scanners later on and then runs into issues due to the current product policy.
