Hello everyone,
Does anyone have experience with the following fingerprint scanner for our front door:
ENTRAsys by Sommer
We plan to install the ENTRAsys system by Sommer on our front door. I’m wondering how secure such a system is, since it transmits data wirelessly. According to the manufacturer, it offers the highest security because it is encrypted using a technology called Somloq Rollingcode.
Could someone provide information on:
1. Recognition rate / reliability of this or other fingerprint systems
2. Security (it is transmitted wirelessly with Somloq Rollingcode encryption)
3. What exactly is a Somloq Rollingcode?
Thank you very much

You often hear this in relation to cars. These are different things. You are referring to keyless-go systems in vehicles. In that case, nothing is hacked; the vulnerable connection there happens without encryption.C

I installed the ENTRAsys FD and am very disappointed. The user manual states that there must be an alternative access option, which is completely understandable because the recognition rate is extremely unreliable. I have already wasted a lot of time with this device. I scanned several fingers, scanned one finger multiple times, scanned fingers flat and at an angle, etc. However, the device remains absolutely unreliable. In my experience, it opens on the first scan about 70% of the time, and about 20% of the time you end up standing in front of the door for 3-5 minutes scanning... On average, using a key gets you inside much faster, so I would not recommend it.
