Hello

We are planning to get a garden shed and have decided on Keter for this purpose.
Either the Keter Oakland or Artisan model.
How durable are these garden sheds? Does anyone have experience with Keter garden sheds?

OK, I understand your point about the plastic house.

What do you think of the Biohort Avantgarde A7/A8 or Highline H4/H5?

This is the highest quality metal garden house I know, and it is completely maintenance-free.

The garden house is mostly in the shade; from 1 PM at the latest, it is fully shaded.

For a wooden house, what wall thickness would you recommend?

I don’t really find the metal things very attractive. But they are definitely durable.
Wood depends on the type of construction. If it’s log siding, then as @WilderSueden says, at least 40 mm (1.5 inches). Otherwise, the boards tend to warp too easily and the structure will eventually become crooked. With a timber frame kit, the supporting structure is usually thick enough anyway, so the cladding can be thinner.

More important than the thickness is the double groove. It provides significantly greater stability. However, this will automatically result in a thickness of over 40mm (1.6 inches).

Biohort is excellent in every aspect: reliable delivery, clear assembly instructions, easy to assemble, everything fits, no missing parts. Our special request to have the same lock for two ordered Highline units was fulfilled.
We have been very satisfied with it for 6 years, find it visually appealing, and indeed maintenance-free.

We have no condensation, in summer it gets warm inside but that doesn’t affect the bicycles and gardening tools.

OK, but a 40mm (1.6 inch) double tongue-and-groove wooden garden shed also costs €2000 or more.

@Tigerlily which Biohort house would you recommend?

We have 2 Highline models, but they are probably all good. Choose the one that suits you best (dimensions, appearance, budget) 😉
