Hey,
has anyone here ever installed a toilet and/or urinal in their garden?
I've caught the DIY bug and want to try the following:
We have a garden shed that I want to convert into an outdoor toilet—at least for light use.
There is no water supply there, only electricity.
My idea is to install a standard urinal and toilet. I would supply flushing water from a rain barrel placed on a stand about 1 to 1.5 meters (3 to 5 feet) high. I would connect it with a valve to the toilet inlet (the pressure should then be sufficient) and have a waste pipe leading from the shed to the outside. Behind the shed, I would dig a shallow pit where the waste pipe would end. I plan to cover the pit with a grate and fill it with gravel.
What do you think about this plan?

When you need to go big, you have to go inside the house! :P
Sure, the effort is "relatively" big for such a small business. On the other hand, the men are currently urinating wildly behind the garden shed. The girls have to use a camping toilet...
My suggested solution is a bit more elegant, especially since the urine then seeps into the pit....

Wastewater disposal is regulated by law.
The same applies to groundwater and drinking water protection.
Spare your neighbors from hepatitis and pathogens such as bacteria, fungi, worms, insect larvae, and odors.
You can expect a complaint from concerned neighbors.
It’s only possible with a tank like those used in portable toilets or camping setups.
Urinating into a urinal inside the garden shed, only to let the wastewater flow behind the shed anyway? I don’t see the point in that. I consider urinating outdoors more practical than concentrating men’s full bladders into a puddle.
Why would anyone even urinate in the garden? How about a flushed toilet in or near the house instead?
