Hey,
has anyone here ever installed a toilet and/or urinal in their garden?
I've caught the DIY bug and want to try the following:
We have a garden shed that I want to convert into an outdoor toilet—at least for light use.
There is no water supply there, only electricity.
My idea is to install a standard urinal and toilet. I would supply flushing water from a rain barrel placed on a stand about 1 to 1.5 meters (3 to 5 feet) high. I would connect it with a valve to the toilet inlet (the pressure should then be sufficient) and have a waste pipe leading from the shed to the outside. Behind the shed, I would dig a shallow pit where the waste pipe would end. I plan to cover the pit with a grate and fill it with gravel.
What do you think about this plan?

Of course, it is "easier" to go to the house to pee. However, my garden shed (there are a total of 3) is about 50m (165 feet) behind the house and approximately 35m (115 feet) above the house floor level... the garden is really on a steep slope... that’s why I am looking for a way to do the little business up in the garden.

just go behind a bush...Great comment!
Come on, guys, if I wanted to pee inside the house or continue urinating outdoors indiscriminately, I wouldn’t be bothering the forum with my “idea” or question! I’ve now realized that the idea of having a urinal with an outdoor drain isn’t the best. Nevertheless, I would appreciate helpful and sincere comments....
I think it’s great.
I’ll have to put it into practice myself in the next few years.
Women always shake their heads at ideas like this.
Just dig the pit deep enough.
It’s not like you’re dealing with hectoliters of urine. And anyway, it’s “diluted” with water.
If needed, a small “bio-treatment plant” for peace of mind.
