ᐅ Are polygonal concrete slabs available on the market?

I would like to cover our terraces and carport with polygonal slabs in sandstone color, but made of concrete—not natural stone. Are you aware if such slabs exist, or is it just my lack of research skills that I haven’t found anything online despite searching for weeks? If such slabs do not exist, I would be interested to know why.

Thanks in advance to everyone. 🙂

May I ask why you want them to be made of concrete? What is it about natural stone that you want to avoid?

Especially since polygonal slabs are not only available in sandstone.

I just noticed…. At EHL, for example, there is something like this: the series is called "Polygono Naturale" and comes in 2 color options.

I would say they probably don’t exist because it is a natural product. Replicating the shapes doesn’t make much sense. It would be far too expensive.

As already mentioned, there are alternatives made of concrete, but they cannot match the natural product.

In the USA, silicone mats with the desired pattern are placed on the concrete. I’ll send you a link.

Thanks, got it. 🙂

We’re still far from the terrace or pathway stage. But I wanted to experiment with it at least. Probably not until autumn though.

Okay, then I’ll wait until autumn and see how it worked out for you, if at all. ;-)

I have read several times that natural stone is quite sensitive. But now I just remembered that since it’s easier to replace individual natural stone slabs or flagstones, it’s not such a big problem if one accidentally gets damaged. I will continue to research this and might switch to natural stone after all if we can afford it and it suits the finished house well. I’m still not sure about that and will ask you in good time.

But now it occurs to me that since polygonal slabs are easier to replace, it’s actually not so problematic if a slab gets accidentally damaged.
You have me surprised.
