Hello everyone.
Does anyone have black matte exterior windows and can share their experience? We want to have dark windows with a matte finish. The RAL 7016 color looks too blue to me personally, so we are considering something different. We also want the garage door in this color (from Hörmann). The advisor mentioned that this color is rarely sold, which made us a bit uncertain. The garage door in black is only available in a glossy finish, not matte—would that still match?
I would be very grateful for any experiences you can share.

We originally wanted black as well, because we didn’t like the typical RAL 7016 shade. We ended up choosing DB703—anthracite with a brownish tint instead of a bluish one. To me, it feels more homely and matches the interior parquet flooring very well.

It’s also quite common, so matching front doors and garage doors is not an issue. The only "problem" is that this color tone isn’t standardized like RAL and can vary slightly depending on the manufacturer. However, we received a sample from the window manufacturer and will use that to choose the door.

I also like DB703, but it is a gray shade, so if that fits into the overall design concept, it should work very well.

Yes, I still remember the problems with DB703 from my previous company. Every powder coating manufacturer shows it quite differently. When you compare sample pieces side by side, it's hard to believe they are all supposed to be DB703. We also had issues here with parts from the same powder supplier placed right next to each other. For example, sunshades next to sunshades sometimes showed different sheens in sunlight. It sounds trivial, but once you actually saw it live on the house facade, the complaint was easy to understand.

However, I don’t think this would be a problem with components that are spaced further apart. Front door, garage, and windows are usually not placed right next to each other.

Black doesn’t stay black for long. High-gloss surfaces last a bit longer, but eventually all finishes weather, causing a stray light effect that makes deep black appear gray. The manufacturer's warranty provides a good indication of how long the finish will last. In areas exposed to strong sun, wind, and rain, I would expect a maximum of 10 years. Maximum.

Is there any solution for this? Is it because of the uniform color? Is it different with colors like DB703, which has a metallic shimmer?

Man, oh man... I wouldn’t want to have unevenly faded windows in 10 years 🙁.

The seemingly simplest solution would be to go with a grey base coat.
Or white (modern white no longer yellows over time).

I believe you also encounter these issues with a single-tone gray, don’t you? RAL 7016 is a gray shade, and when I see the metal cladding on some relatively new houses, it honestly makes me shudder. This uneven, cloudy (I don’t even know how to describe it) fading looks terrible in my opinion. I have a slight concern that this is generally a problem with single-color coatings (except maybe white), but unfortunately, I’m not sure...

EDIT:
Does anyone know how this behaves with anodized aluminum?
