Hello everyone,
The time is slowly coming when it’s possible to clean the driveway and the terrace.
I’m already thinking about a pressure washer, but which one would be suitable?
It’s clear that Kärcher is the market leader and very good quality.

What alternatives do you have and would recommend?

Phew, varying opinions.
Kärcher was mentioned because I am familiar with it and have used an industrial model at work.

Other brands might also be an option, but which one exactly?

Regarding asking manufacturers if a high-pressure cleaner is suitable for the concrete slabs... the dealer already advised against it when I bought the slabs.
You don’t really need to blast the slabs away with 130 bar (1900 psi).
It’s just coarse dirt.
Even in the driveway joints. It’s slowly turning green.

Nilfisk offers metal pumps and often provides a 50 euro cashback when exchanging old devices.
Kärcher models up to the K5 use plastic pumps, which are not very durable.

I have the Nilfisk E150 with accessories and am satisfied.

Last year, I bought a pressure washer to clean the paving stones after five years, removing the moss and algae. This mainly concerns the north side behind a privacy screen where no sunlight reaches. I chose a pressure washer from Parkside (LIDL), which has an aluminum pump, unlike the more expensive Kärcher models.

I also got the matching surface cleaner, so I was ready to start. For cleaning every few years, you don’t really need a model costing $400–$500. However, it also depends on the size of the area to be cleaned.

One more vote for Kränzle: last year I went with a Profi 160 TST. Of course, it’s overkill, but I wanted a quiet machine (slow-running) with a reliable brass pump, hose reel, water tank, and long-term availability of spare parts. My father’s old Kärcher broke down, had been used only occasionally, and still can’t build up pressure.
So far, I am very satisfied with the Kränzle.

Oh, are you already that far with your house? – that’s nice. But as you said yourself...

... exactly. Brute force is not always the (only) king. We changed the method (for a concrete block driveway) from pressure washers to almost no-pressure watering (ordinary lawn sprinkler hose) after a pretreatment with baker’s yeast. Sweeping over it a bit with a scrub brush achieves the same result with much less power. Of course, it’s less impressive (also acoustically) than the Binford 6100 Superior Efficiency Titanium Double Turbo Tim Taylor edition ;-)

Works great!

Otherwise, a cheap device from Lidl or similar stores is actually sufficient.
