Hello everyone,

if anyone is familiar with the Trotec BM31… the moisture is not displayed as a percentage but as dimensionless digital values.

Can someone tell me how to roughly convert these values into the usual percentages or from which digital value increased moisture would be indicated, suggesting a potential defect in an exterior wall?

Thank you very much

This is common for measuring devices using the CM method. The reason is that this method cannot determine the moisture content in % of water per mass unit of the building material. That is why unitless digits are used.

Unfortunately, Trotec uses its own scale (0-100), which is not comparable with values from other manufacturers. You should find a conversion table in the user manual. With that, knowing the measured material (and possibly other parameters), you can convert the digit value into the building material's moisture content.
