Hello dear forum community,
We are also about to make our dream of a lifetime come true.
The plot of land is already secured, and now we are looking for someone who can bring our ideas to life. Since we would like the walls of our townhouse to be made of POROTON, we keep noticing that in the northern regions, construction is often done with aerated concrete blocks (e.g., Ytong).
Now we are looking for builders who work with POROTON and are still located in the north – which is why I am reaching out to this forum, as it is very difficult to find out how companies actually build.
IN SHORT: Who builds with POROTON in the north and can provide us with a contact?
Thank you very much in advance,
Chrischan

OD? Why don’t you build with Poroton where you are? Here in northern Lower Saxony, Poroton is commonly used. Many companies near Hannover build with Wienerberger. It seems like there is some kind of aerated concrete divide.
There are a few (very) few who use it on request (!!), but aerated concrete is the standard.
I would also like to know why that is.

Building materials are often strongly tied to their region because of their weight. Since Poroton requires traditional red clay, it is usually produced where this clay is available. Maybe that’s related.Someone explained it to us the same way. However, this raises the question of why clinker bricks are so popular here? Or are they not made from clay?
