Hello everyone,

Since our plot is located on a slope and we would like to create a level area (excavating about 50 cubic meters (65 cubic yards) of soil) with slope stabilization using L-shaped retaining walls (1.55 meters (5 feet) high) along a length of 15 meters (50 feet), we have been checking with local companies.

One company, which mainly specializes in tree removal and forestry work, gave us a quite good offer.

However, another company informed us that these types of works are subject to specific commercial regulations and cannot simply be carried out by a forestry company.

Are you aware of such legal requirements, and if so, what impact do they have?

Thank you very much for your help!

Should the L-shaped concrete blocks be placed directly on the property boundary?

Yes, partially. However, this has been agreed upon with the neighbors, and they have no objection as long as we properly replant the backfilled soil afterwards.

I see this more as legal requirements (whether and how you are allowed to do it) and specifications related to execution (e.g., structural requirements for the installed L-shaped blocks). Otherwise, anyone can carry it out – the important thing is the correct technical implementation (including drainage).

Are terrain modifications and retaining walls allowed at the property boundary in your development area?

It might have something to do with the construction industry or main construction trades. I can’t remember exactly. A friend just explained to us that he is not allowed to pave the courtyard alone. If he does the entire outdoor area, then he is allowed to pave the driveway.
