Hello everyone,

I would like to briefly get your valued opinion on the topic of windows / full glass elements / sliding door elements.

Did your cost calculations also include a price per square meter of windows, and if so, how much?

Does anyone have experience with Josko windows?

Best regards

It was the same for us. However, the square meters can vary greatly depending on the construction. For example, a house on a slope probably has less window surface area than a detached house.

The main concern with square meters is that the price can change dramatically if you deviate from standard dimensions (as far as I know, a maximum of 2.5m by 2.5m (8 feet 2 inches by 8 feet 2 inches)). The question is what price per square meter the architect assumes in their cost calculation. Does this match your requirements? White PVC windows, or wooden or aluminum frames? Lift-and-slide doors or balcony doors?

We had extensive contact with Josko.
Our focus was on the frameless glass panels.
Overall, they made a very good impression, but it didn’t quite fit our requirements. You can tell that Josko originally comes from the joinery background, which I mean in a positive way. The wood and craftsmanship were excellent (based on the system we looked at).
We were able to negotiate fixed-price quotes. Of course, the total square meters (square feet) play a role, but it also depends on the frames, sizes, and proportions.
Personally, I would have had no hesitation in awarding the contract to Josko. As mentioned, it ultimately failed due to our specific needs (e.g., individual elements with 10 meters (33 feet) openings, protection class…).

And whose loss was their gain then?

Probably someone who urgently needed a window supplier.
We have always been transparent. Josko knew that other competitors were involved.
Josko would have been our second choice technically. Much more attractive financially.
This was also about a large contract and a reference project.

I meant, if not Josko, who won your contract now?
