I haven’t built one myself (unfortunately), but I have closely followed how several of these houses were constructed in our new development area. I’m not familiar with the providers mentioned. In our case, the company was ISO-Massivhaus. Some homeowners built parts themselves, while others had the houses delivered as turnkey projects. Depending on how much effort the homeowner put in, the construction went faster or slower. I know almost all the homeowners, and honestly, I’m a bit jealous of how low their heating costs are... ****** The costs certainly depend on how much you do yourself.

Hello,

Thanks for the information.

And didn’t your lawyer friend, for example, point out the – to put it politely – unusual payment schedule?

Best regards

Hello Bauexperte,

Of course, I haven’t seen countless payment schedules from other companies (unfortunately, that would be useful if there was some kind of overview), but the payment schedule from the company Exzellent Massivhaus was acceptable, or to put it differently, we were satisfied with it. We have seen three from other companies that we consulted with, and those were almost outrageous. Our bank also received the payment schedule regarding financing.

Is there anyone here who has built or is currently building with Exzellent Massivhaus using the Neopor construction method?
An exchange would be great.

Hello Miri,

That is basically not necessary, as the general consensus (also supported by consumer advice) is that 58-60% should be the maximum amount paid up to the completion of the shell stage.

I don’t know which providers you have already talked to, but I would not be satisfied with 72% paid by the shell completion stage…

Kind regards

Hello Miri,

Are you happy with your house? If you were to make the decision again, would you build with Neopor?

Good luck,

I would also be interested to hear how Miri’s experience with Exzellent Massivhaus has been.

Overall, their website reveals very little about the Neopor blocks they use. I’m skeptical about blocks with Neopor ribs in terms of sound insulation.

Does anyone here perhaps know a site manager who has frequently worked with Neopor?

Hello,

I built with a "kit" made of Neopor. I am very satisfied. The shell was completed in one week, and the house was turnkey in five weeks. All at a good price. It is a Passive House Plus (a bungalow). With a photovoltaic system, solar hot water, and ventilation. 170 m² (1,830 sq ft), including the plot, for €200,000 (but without a basement, as I don’t need one). I assembled the elements myself (instructions are provided) and had the electrical work inspected and approved by a licensed electrician. I am very happy and won’t need gas or oil anymore in the future, and I even sell electricity.

That’s great to hear! Do you have any pictures of the construction and the project? How was the concrete poured? Pump or bucket? Did you use an insulated slab foundation? Did a company do the work, or did you do it yourself (with helpers)? I also built with Neopor, which was a bit more complicated because of the basement and two full stories, but having a finished shell in a week seems very unrealistic. What do you count as the shell? The insulated slab foundation alone took almost a week for me.
