If possible, I would like a sectional door that can be installed flush with the wall surface. I plan to cover it with the facade cladding, but not at any cost....

Here are some manufacturers. Perhaps someone has experience with one of them and can share insights on quality and prices.

- RUKU tilt door (unfortunately not a sectional door)
- Hacker AG
- Beluga
- Ullrich door systems
- Hörmann

Modern dark garage door in front of a driveway paved with concrete slabs.

Why so expensive? Hörmann doors can be found online depending on the model and size between 500 and 3000 €.

Yes, you are right. But since Hörmann doors in this case are industrial doors, the price increases significantly.

As far as I know, the only difference is the motor. The regular ones have only 4-5 opening cycles per day. Industrial doors have 30-40. And yes, it is stored.

But the "substructure" must allow for the attachment of the panels. I don’t know what the difference is with this particular industrial door.

And that’s why the initial question is whether anyone has actually installed this. And if so, at what cost? Hörmann’s gate alone is said to cost around €7000. At that price, I might as well order the Bentley too...

At a fair price. Such a garage “marks” the house of a chief physician, notary, or CEO. You’d expect to see a Quattroporte and a Q7 inside. Seeing an Astra drive through a gate like that would be hilarious.

For me personally, the look is way too bulky, kind of like Darth Vader’s garage... You’d need a 300 m² (3200 ft²) mansion next door for the house not to get visually overshadowed.

But Darth Vader wouldn’t hide such a martial garage under an eave on one side—that seems inconsistent somehow.

A garage like this belongs alongside a Büdenbender or Kern-Haus. Weberhaus would also be the right price range but doesn’t quite fit stylistically.

Since there are various manufacturers, I hope something like this can be found at an affordable price. Preferably as a DIY project with installation and paneling done by myself. Skilled workers are available locally.

This is a product from the market segment of “products for people who want to show that they don’t care about affordability.” And for good reason, it’s exactly not a “budget brand.” I would only recommend DIY work on such a precision project if the skilled workers include several watchmakers.

When a well-known manufacturer refers to this as an “industrial door,” it’s not just about the number of opening cycles: what many home builders forget is the wind load acting on a seven-meter (23 ft) gate. The gate must neither flap nor bend. Nor should it only be operable when the wind dies down. Especially with a flush-mounted gate, I would consider installing a center post and splitting it in two. Large garages often house a seasonal vehicle, children’s bicycles, or storage. It usually improves the “chic” factor if one half can be opened independently.

By the way, I miss seeing the house matched to the gate in your post history (?)

So far, I haven’t mentioned the gate size. I respect each person’s opinion on whether it suits their taste or not. What really matters is whether we like it ourselves. Everyone has different priorities. Some have a tidy garage, others don’t. I appreciate every positive and also every critical opinion. The picture is just an example to illustrate how it could look. The original question is still whether any of you have one or are familiar with different dealers or manufacturers. In the end, the price and personal taste decide.

But the size is serious, right? – For example, if we were talking about less than 4 m (13 feet) in width per gate, that would be a completely different structural challenge and thus also a very different price range.
