If possible, I would like a sectional door that can be installed flush with the wall surface. I plan to cover it with the facade cladding, but not at any cost....

Here are some manufacturers. Perhaps someone has experience with one of them and can share insights on quality and prices.

- RUKU tilt door (unfortunately not a sectional door)
- Hacker AG
- Beluga
- Ullrich door systems
- Hörmann

A sectional door means that the panels are not just cladding but actually structural segments of the door. In other words, to achieve a perfectly matching appearance, the facade installer would practically have to order the exact same segments from the door manufacturer or their supplier. This leads to very precise adjustment work during the installation of both the door and the facade elements. It’s extremely labor-intensive and expensive. Only very high-end vehicles like Bentleys would justify this level of precision so that it doesn’t look "off."

Personally, a “wallpaper door” like that for a garage would remind me of the storage rooms in a gymnasium.

Your assumption isn’t entirely correct. For example, Hörmann offers the option to "panel" the door afterward. This way, you can practically choose the material, considering details like weight and size.

Regarding the financial aspect, I am currently installing the Bentley. So, it’s just a relatively affordable car in there. Nevertheless, my wife and I would like it, which is why the original question is whether anyone has installed it—and if so, at what price? Hörmann’s door alone is supposed to cost around 7000€ (approximately 7000 euros). In that case, I would actually order the Bentley as well...

The gate looks absolutely stunning!
An architect in our neighborhood also has a similar one.

But for that price, you could get a new Dacia car.

Thanks, Tomtom.
We also think it’s really good.
Since there are different manufacturers, I hope something like this is available at an affordable price. We are happy to do parts ourselves, such as installation and paneling. Skilled workers are available on site.
The hope is small that this is possible at a realistic price. But that’s what a forum like this is for—to find out what is feasible.

Hello,

Hörmann quotes around 7000€ for the door.

Why so expensive? Depending on the model and size, Hörmann doors can be found online between 500 and 3000 €. If it’s really just an additional cladding, the main concern would be whether the door operator can handle the extra weight.

It is true, though, that the facade panels and door sections then need to be precisely adjusted.

Personally, I find the appearance too bulky; it somehow looks like Darth Vader’s garage... You would need a 300 m² (3,229 sq ft) mansion next door just so the house doesn’t get visually overwhelmed. But of course, it doesn’t have to be to my taste, it’s your choice!

Other suppliers include Novoferm and Normstahl.

Best regards,

Andreas
