Hello,
There is a strong odor coming from my kitchen sink and the trap.
I have already tried leaving vinegar and salt to sit overnight, which eliminated the smell for two days.

I also completely disassembled and cleaned the trap.
This did not help either.

What could be causing this?
What can I do to fix it?

Attached are two pictures

Is there always water in the trap?

It is possible that the trap gets suctioned empty when the toilet flush is activated, for example if the vent pipe is undersized.

I am a tenant in the apartment. What course of action would you recommend to me now?

It is also possible that roommates might be flushing all sorts of things down the pipes, which could cause unpleasant odors. Are other tenants experiencing similar smells?

Best regards,
Sigi

Regards, Sigi

I don't know that.
