As far as I know the meadow back then, it is roughly at the same level as the canal water. I wasn’t referring to the artificial river, but to the sewage drain beneath the road. With such a “long” plot, the street on the valley side can easily be half a meter (about 1.6 feet) lower than the street on the hill side without the slope being particularly noticeable. This difference in elevation would also apply to the “backwater levels” of the two sewage drains, which can determine whether a sewage lifting system is needed or not. For this reason, one of the considerations is whether to connect the house to the west street or the east street (though the connections for sewage and driveway don’t necessarily have to be the same). This is just one of several factors, not very significant, and mainly relevant for the location within No. 6—not so much for the decision between No. 6 or No. 3.

These seem to be additional costs that should definitely be included in the contingency. Not necessarily. Only if you position the house very close to the lower edge of the slope, and the municipality says no, with this house number you have to connect to the "upper road," then you would need to take this aspect into account. I mention this mainly because very slight slopes, which are hardly noticeable, tend to be underestimated. But to be clear, not in a dramatic way. So everything is fine—just something to keep in mind on the side as possibly irrelevant information. In a top-down plan, everything always looks “flat” (and sometimes it really is).

Hello everyone.
Yesterday, we had a conversation with the local municipal officer and reserved plot number 6.
We are allowed to access the plot from the east or west. However, he couldn’t tell me where the utility connections are located. I plan to visit the site today to check it out.
We would position the house on the east side, which would give us a nice, undeveloped west-facing garden where we could enjoy the afternoon sun.
We don’t yet know how the differences in elevation will affect the site.
