chipcHelp! Company incapable! Which remote control unit for Vitodens 200WB2 6-26.3kW (2003)
Type No: 7170316314077100
Viessmann wall-mounted gas condensing boiler, weather-compensated operation with standard control unit
Unfortunately, the company that installed and services my heating system, as well as Viessmann itself (multiple calls from the heating technician, around 1 to 1.5 hours of phone support from the representative: ????? hm! – unbelievable for such a “global company” in the PC era, you’d think they would have an archive or something – I don’t get it – sorry) are unable to help (for 7 weeks now!!!).
I want a surface-mounted remote control unit to operate the boiler located in the basement from the ground and upper floors (hot water and heating), so I can occasionally run it outside the normal scheduled times.
My heating company installed a Vitotrol 300, but it didn’t work (no display, replaced it, installed a second one, same issue – can’t be the units themselves (the wiring is also unlikely since it’s newly installed J-Y (ST) Y 2x2x0.6mm² (J-Y (ST) Y 2x2x0.6mm² is a type of thermostat cable)). I think the Vitotrol 300 (which had all the functions I wanted, unfortunately) might not be compatible with my system anymore. Was it introduced later?
The connection and wiring diagram is confusing. It mentions Vitocom 300, or... 200 and WS/RS accessories.
When I Google, I find the Vitocom 300 as a device with a communication interface and internet remote control—but that’s not what I want. I had the Vitocom 300 in 2003 or 2004; maybe it had a different meaning or function back then? Some companies do this—the same product name is used over time but with different functions or specifications, unfortunately (greetings to companies like Kathrein, among others!).
My main question:
Which remote control unit (and possibly adapter, connector, or accessories) do I actually need, and where can I get it?
If the installers are not capable, I (ex-electrician) will install it myself.
It would be really kind if someone could help me out here!
Thanks in advance!

Once again, all important (partially corrected) data:
On the top cover plate of the wall unit it says:
Gas condensing boiler Vitodens 200 Type WB"2 No. 7170316314077100 6-26.3KW Year of manufacture 2003
I have a standard control unit for weather-compensated operation according to the service manual 12/2002, page 114 parts list labeled with No. 175; on pages 103/104, control panel A4 is the top right one,
a burner control unit No. 158
a main circuit board part 1 (burner control unit LGM 29) with power supply input-output 230V, connectors No. 40 and No. 156, and control VR 20 included.
a main circuit board part 2 (burner control unit LGM 29) where the connectors/output EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS such as outdoor temperature sensor, connection for circulation pump via adapter, etc. are located.
There is also: remote control unit WS/RS (accessory) *2
Connection for heating circuit control or Vitocom 200/300 *2 *3
*2: Only for weather-compensated operation
*3: Communication module required (accessory)
In the installation manual on pages 8/9 under electrical connections/note on connecting accessories for Vitotronic 050 *2, Vitocom 100, Solartrol *2, wall mounting base *3
*2 Connection via Viessmann 2-wire bus with communication module
*3 Only an alternative connection
Nowhere is there a description or indication of what the parts do or what they mean, except for the great note: For connection, please refer to the separate installation manuals included with the accessories, sigh...
Do you have to study or something to figure this out?
I think I’ll give up soon....
