ᐅ Which construction company builds with Poroton blocks? (North Rhine-Westphalia) Thanks for any information.

We are still at an early stage of our house planning and currently believe that building the external walls with Poroton (36.5cm (14.4 inches)) is the best option for our house.
We will be building relatively close to a busy road, and there is also a railway line nearby – so sound insulation is our top priority. (Energy efficiency is generally standard in all newly built homes nowadays).
From our research so far, we have found that Poroton external walls apparently (?) offer the best sound insulation. We would appreciate other opinions or confirmation on this.

So far, we have found very few home builders who construct with Poroton. Could anyone recommend a reliable company for NRW (Rheinisch Bergischer Kreis)?
We are very grateful for any help.
You can probably tell from my post – we are complete beginners and open to any suggestions or advice.

If soundproofing is that important, I would rather consider calcium silicate brick with an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) or even a cavity wall construction.

Sound insulation is achieved through mass. Porous materials won’t provide that. Calcium silicate brick (sand-lime brick) is your friend.
However, the wall alone is not everything. Glass, roller shutter boxes, and other components also need to be properly addressed. So don’t focus solely on the wall.
Poroton, at least the high-density types (filled, perlite, etc.), are less common in our region. With calcium silicate brick, you’ll have better availability in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Thank you for the help. We have now found some good suppliers and have also decided to focus on soundproof windows.

I would also recommend sand-lime bricks and soundproof windows.
