Hello everyone,

To gain additional living space, we are planning a new attic construction with dormers. Due to the low roof pitch of 28 degrees, a knee wall is planned.

The responsible building authority has approved a planned knee wall height of 65cm (26 inches) based on a preliminary building inquiry.

The attic will most likely be used as our home office, so it would be ideal if the bottom edge of the window glass is at desk height (76cm / 30 inches), allowing for a nice view while seated.

Now the big question: how high should the knee wall be for this? Presumably, 65cm (26 inches) might be too high, right?

Best regards,
Peter
