Hello everyone
What are the typical dimensions of a standard garage, such as those found with rental apartments, etc.?
Do you think a garage with the following internal dimensions is oversized for a family with one car?
8.00 meters long and 4.50 meters wide (26 ft 3 in x 14 ft 9 in)?
Do you think there are manufacturers who can provide this as a prefabricated garage? If yes, what do you estimate it might cost?
We are planning to build a garage for our house, but I am quite uncertain about the size.
It should fit: a station wagon, winter tires, and a small workbench for some light repairs… and possibly garden tools as well.
Those dimensions of 8.00 x 4.50 meters (26 ft 3 in x 14 ft 9 in) should be enough, right?
Thanks a lot for your advice
Best regards, Urmel

A single garage usually measures 3x6 meters (10x20 feet). Most manufacturers of prefabricated garages offer a wide range of sizes or can also build custom dimensions. In terms of cost, you can expect to pay between 8,000 and 13,000, depending on plaster, paint, the door, and other extras.

6Richtige4 Jul 2009 20:58Hello Cmajere,
What you linked is just a metal garage. The one Urmel needs already costs €7115 (without transport, assembly, strip foundations, etc.) according to your link. Because of possible condensation in winter, I’m not very enthusiastic about steel garages. My estimate is based on precast concrete garages with a wide sectional door.
It’s quite difficult to get an offer from the various manufacturers; they prefer to send a sales representative who wants the order after 20 minutes.

Yes, exactly!!
It will probably be a double garage, with a large sectional door...
It should definitely be a solid concrete garage...
I also think the cost will be somewhere between 7,000 and 9,000.
This does not include any electrical work!
Ugh... everything is so expensive.
Best regards, Urmel
