Hello everyone,

we need around 85m² (915 sq ft) for bedrooms and the upper floor hallway (country-style floorboards).

Does anyone have a recommendation for an online store where you can get a good price, preferably also for clearance items or second-grade products?

Feel free to send a private message.

Thanks!

A builder from my area calculates by square meters.... is second choice worth it?

Actually, yes, but it really depends on the customer's taste!

I spoke with a supplier who said that second grade only refers to the tongue and groove. They said you would need about 10% more waste material, so more material overall, but if the installer charges by square meter, then it doesn’t matter.

What do you mean by good prices? What range are we talking about?

Is there a minimum price for good-quality parquet flooring? If so, where does that price start?

Check eBay, where hardwood flooring starts at €10 per m² (about $11 per sq ft). Planks start at €20 per m² (about $22 per sq ft). This gives you an idea of entry-level prices for good hardwood flooring.
With glued-down hardwood flooring, you won’t notice much difference between the €140 and the €25 per m² (about $15 and $133 per sq ft) options. I know this comparison well from my projects. The higher-priced flooring has a slightly thicker wear layer and, for example, the click system is a bit more precisely manufactured. But it’s not worth the extra cost.

Thanks for the tip....my main concern is just that the wood comes from the EU or is certified, so not from the Far East or similar...right?

Is it a matter of personal taste, or which type of wood should I choose?
