Hello forum members,
I am currently planning a complete attic conversion and am considering which interior walls to build (drywall construction or solid construction). Besides the acoustics within the room, soundproofing is especially important to me.
Who among you has experience with different materials, the necessary thickness, or useful tips and tricks?
Thank you in advance for any experience reports or advice.

Hello,
The advantages of solid construction lie in the building physics properties, while with drywall construction, the benefits are clearly in the ease of installation.
However, which one is better for you is something you need to decide yourself.
One essential factor to consider is the structural engineering. You cannot simply place heavy solid walls on the ceiling. We don’t want the walls to suddenly end up on the ground floor 😉
So, find someone to help you with the planning—definitely a structural engineer.
Best regards
