As a newcomer to the forum, I have a question about the proper installation of shower fittings. Two bathrooms in our house were recently renovated with relatively high-quality exposed fittings. In both showers, part of the thread and a gap between the nut and the fitting are visible (see pictures). It seems likely that limescale and dirt will accumulate there. Is this considered a defect, or do I have to accept it? The contractor’s response has been delayed for a long time.
Thank you in advance!

If the thread is shortened to fix this aesthetic defect, please make sure not to shorten the thread that is now visible.
Instead, the thread on the other side, which is screwed into the wall, must be shortened by this difference.
Otherwise, your sealing surface will be damaged.
