Hello
I would like to glue facing bricks onto a gypsum fiberboard wall. So far, the wall has only been fully covered with interior filler and sanded. Now I’m wondering if I should first apply a primer for render or if I can stick the facing bricks directly onto the filled wall?
The primer for render provides a nice hard and grainy texture, which I imagine would offer better adhesion than just the filler. Or is there a special primer specifically for facing bricks?
(By facing bricks, I mean these interior cladding bricks that look like stone.)

I would prefer this, as I like to be on the safe side—even though it probably works directly on the wall as well. In the end, it’s basically just a type of “tile laying.”
There is bonding primer available for veneer panels, just as there is bonding primer for tiles. It depends on the material of the veneer panels... natural stone, plastic, clay, ceramic, etc. If no bonding primer is applied, the adhesion warranty will be void. Spending 10 euros on a canister should be manageable.
It is definitely not natural stone. For the interior, the cladding is made of gypsum, and for the exterior, which we will probably choose, lightweight concrete. These have to be installed on thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS / external wall insulation) and therefore must not be too heavy. I would have preferred natural stone, as I find it more attractive.
Thank you all!
