Hello everyone
I came across an interesting house that includes an old tennis court and is very affordable. According to the documents, the tennis court appears to be concrete. We would prefer to have a garden there instead. I tried to estimate the size of the court; it’s probably around 450m2 (4,843 sq ft). Can anyone estimate the costs involved in removing it and filling the area with soil? Is it feasible to do this yourself using a rented excavator, or is it better to hire professionals?
Thanks in advance

The photos show the house looking quite decent, and it is described that way as well. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean much. My next step will definitely be to arrange a viewing appointment together with an architect or building expert. Then I can check if there are any issues with the house. Hopefully not...!
But if it needs removing, do you think a cost in the range of 10,000-12,000 (currency) would be realistic?

Osnabruecker18 Jan 2021 13:17Are you sure that’s concrete? From the photo, I would rather say it looks like asphalt...
10,000–12,000 (dollars) is a reasonable budget range to approach the project. The house purchase should not fail because of that.
If it’s 30 cm (12 inches) of reinforced concrete on contaminated ground, your budget won’t be enough.
If it’s (environmentally uncontaminated) asphalt, you’re within budget, even if you hire external contractors.

Wow.. I think the tennis court is really awesome! It even has a practice wall for when no partner is available..!! If there are kids, you could train a little Agassi 😉 As you can see.. I really have nothing to add to your question :pActually: Preservation instead of costly destructionSimilar topics
