To hide the range hood and the exhaust duct, I built a spice rack:

It was mainly repurposing leftover materials: there were some leftovers from the side panels, and we also had 2 extra doors (which had pre-drilled holes because after installing the first 2 doors, we decided to mount the handles vertically instead of horizontally...)
The installation is screwed in and can be easily removed if any work is needed on the range hood.
The shelves are deliberately not very deep, but it would be possible to attach an additional spice rack inside the door if needed, as there is enough space.
Maybe a tip for those who aren’t sure what to do with an upper cabinet.

For assembling the back panel, I screwed a batten on the left and right sides to the side walls. Then I screwed the back panel onto the battens, so the shelf can be quickly removed if needed. The screws are placed just above the small support shelves and are hardly visible. I also added white cover caps on them, but that wasn’t strictly necessary.
I screwed the shelf boards from behind through the back panel and applied wood glue beforehand, which makes them firmly attached.
The separate narrow back panel right in front of the fan unit was a bit tricky because of the hinge. I cut it to size and screwed it on the sides through two side walls each.

Most of it is plastic anyway, so nothing has happened here so far. If someone wants to be extra safe, they could install a small aluminum rod or something similar as a fall protection. But then it becomes more inconvenient to take the spices out. Alternatively, you could always pull out the extractor hood when you want to take out spices.
