Hello everyone,
We have recently become homeowners and are looking for as much information as possible.
I think this is common for most people doing this for the first time ;-)
Laminate flooring can be purchased from many online sources. Are these the best prices, or are there also reliable suppliers abroad? (Poland, Czech Republic, ...)
Looking forward to your answers.
We still have a lot of time until then, but the more you know beforehand, the better.

How much should or can the laminate along with the underlay cost?
We chose a well-known German manufacturer (likely produced abroad), and in the end, we paid less than 20 euros per square meter (about 1.86 USD per square foot), including decent impact sound insulation and a vapor barrier.
I don’t know where you would want to save more on that.

Hello,
our house has about 100 sqm (1,076 sq ft) over 3 floors. That adds up quite a bit.
My plan is to request the labor through MyHammer and order the materials myself. Are the companies on MyHammer reliable?
I’m simply looking for possibly affordable but still good sources. The developer’s budget allocates 16 euros per sqm (approximately $17 per sq ft).
Regards, Alex

(Poland, Czech Republic, ...)Hmm – I always have some reservations about ordering over the internet. Don’t get me wrong – I do shop online quite often. But there are many things that really make sense to see and feel in person. Also, you shouldn’t forget the importance of advice. For me, after we built our house, that included the laminate flooring—just like clothing or shoes—I guess I’m a bit old-fashioned here.
Was it more expensive? I’m not sure—maybe. But even with a discount on the listed price, we got the baseboards and the underlay for soundproofing included. Another important point is: you only see a photo of the laminate on the internet. Where we bought ours, they clicked together about 5 to 10 laminate planks to give a good sense of the overall surface.
Which room do you want to lay the laminate in? There are different abrasion classes that affect durability. For example, in the children’s rooms, we chose higher abrasion classes compared to the bedroom and office. Many things you only find out through face-to-face advice.
Finally, I also believe that if the advice is good and the price difference is not too big, I prefer to buy from a specialty store. For me, it’s less about supporting the local retailer and more about appreciating professional, competent advice.
