Hello everyone,

Our house, including the interior finishing, was completed by our builder in December 2017, and we have now been living in our home for 6 months. However, there are 2-3 issues that still bother me or that I am not sure are considered normal.

Throughout the entire house, the builder applied a type of wallpaper called painter's fleece (also known as smooth fleece or renovation fleece), and we paid around 10,000 euros for this.

We have recessed ceiling lights/spots on many floors, and as a layperson, when the sun shines or the spotlights shine directly on the walls, it looks like the walls have “cellulite.” In other words, you can clearly see unevenness. I’m not sure if it’s even possible to get a perfectly smooth finish with this wallpaper, and since I don’t know anyone else who has used this type of wallpaper on their walls, I thought I’d ask for your advice.

Thank you very much, best regards

In raking light, many surfaces appear somewhat uneven.

Do you have a picture?

Sure. I have attached 4 example images.
These images do not show reflections; they are the mentioned dents.

Phew, the plastering is really poor. The painter’s fleece won’t help much with that. The painter should have applied a lot more filler beforehand. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. You’ll probably have to live with it for a while until the next renovation.

It looks like the fleece is too thin... You can see every trowel stroke through it. In the hallway and living area, we used a thicker fleece that is already primed. For wall lamps, this is essential.

Fleece does not conceal poor plaster. At minimum, you would need wallpaper, but even that has its limits.
What quality was agreed upon for the plaster?
