Hello,
I have a problem with installing a single-lever, single-hole washbasin faucet from HANSAMIX (01092283). The pre-assembled base gasket seems to be too thick, because when inserting the faucet, it sits about 3 mm (1/8 inch) above the rubber gasket. Of course, the gasket is meant to provide some spacing to seal the base of the faucet when tightening. But when I attach and tighten the crescent washer, the faucet does not pull down but instead tilts forward toward the basin rather than settling flat and vertical on the mounting surface. This can’t be normal, right?
Is this a design flaw? Given the price and brand, it shouldn’t be an issue. But the gasket is definitely too thick. What do you think, and what would you recommend doing?
Here are some pictures of the described problem:

In the drawing you attached, it is clearly shown that the centering ring is meant to go into the base of the faucet (where it is already factory-installed and does not need to be mounted by me). The base sits ON the washbasin and is centered in the washbasin hole by this centering ring, which also seals against water penetration using the gasket. What is the gasket supposed to do under the basin? 🤨 Not to mention that it wouldn’t provide any support, would block the flexible hoses, and would break when tightening the particle board.
No, no, the installation sequence is very clear:
Faucet with centering ring in the base > mounted from above onto the washbasin < secured by particle board and nut from below

MaxMumann2 Feb 2016 13:14In my opinion, there are only two possibilities.
1. It simply hasn’t been tightened enough yet, which is why the faucet isn’t perfectly aligned.
2. Contrary to what you previously thought, the plastic ring actually needs to go under the sink, while the gasket sits on top.
It shouldn’t be a problem to try that out.

I really don’t want to argue and am happy to be corrected, but how is that supposed to work? The plastic ring and the gasket are one piece. And how do you come to that conclusion? The drawing clearly doesn’t show that!?
