I am looking for windows that could help me save on heating costs, but I am a beginner in this area. How thick should they be, and how strong should the glazing be? The windows should be thick and affordable; the design does not matter to me.

Hello Baulurch,

Nowadays, the best way to order high-quality windows is online, especially if you feel confident doing the installation yourself :-) Just make sure you don’t end up with low-quality windows from less reliable sources, as that could cause serious problems ;-)

I bought my windows online. The system features 0.7 mm (about 0.03 inches) glazing with warm edge spacers, which is top quality. The profiles are German, made by Aluplast in Karlsruhe, the hardware is from Winkhaus, and the manufacturing also takes place in Germany. The price is very attractive, and I am genuinely satisfied with the workmanship. They even have installation partners across Germany if you don’t feel comfortable measuring and installing yourself ;-) They also provide YouTube videos and technical support for everything, so basically, nothing can go wrong. Just take a look and see if it suits your needs.
