Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding impact sound insulation. We are planning to renovate an old prefab house. It is my childhood home where my father installed a vinyl floor in the living area about 3-4 years ago. Underneath, there is impact sound insulation. The vinyl floor can be removed fairly easily without causing damage.
In theory, can the impact sound insulation also be used for hardwood flooring? This could save us around 50 square meters (540 square feet). I know it’s not a huge cost, but if it can still be used, it would be unnecessary to install everything new.
I have attached photos of the impact sound insulation. Or is it unsuitable for hardwood flooring? The installation will be on the first floor, with the basement and two living rooms below.
Thanks

It is possible that the manufacturer of the parquet flooring provides recommendations on which type of impact sound insulation would be appropriate here.
I would glue down the parquet flooring anyway, as it simply provides a much better walking experience, etc.
