Hi everyone,

can someone recommend a company in the Thurgau area that can carry out wall niche work on finished walls? Does anyone have experience regarding costs, what would a wall niche roughly cost? It shouldn't be prefabricated metal boxes but rather recessing the wall and tiling it.

Thank you very much

Hi maluco68,

Unfortunately, I don’t know any companies in your area. Years ago, I installed a wall niche myself in an older building. For that, I used clinker bricks. It looks quite neat. Of course, other types of bricks can also be used and then covered with tiles.

Hello,

Your information is very limited, so I cannot provide a specific answer.

How large should this wall niche be?

It would be helpful to know.

Thank you.

I built this myself as well. My niche is 20cm (8 inches) deep, 60cm (24 inches) high, and 100cm (39 inches) long. I used aerated concrete blocks and also installed a lintel. I then installed some recessed spotlights in this niche. It looks quite good.

That sounds good. I also plan to build a wall niche like that myself. Thank you for the information, I will draw up a small plan for it. I can get the materials at the hardware store.
