Hello,

I’m new to the forum and have a question for all the experts. I’m planning to renovate a house and am currently working on a cost estimate. I don’t want to go into detail about that here, as I have competent help, but I would like to discuss the roofing part.

The roofing on the renovation project consists of Kodersdorf roof tiles (roof tiles from the former East Germany era). Since the surrounding outbuildings of this three-sided courtyard also have these roof tiles installed and their condition as well as the underlying construction do not require any immediate work, I would prefer not to deviate from the design and replace the existing tiles with newer ones in the same style. Does anyone have an idea which current roof tile comes closest to these old ones? A visit to the local roofer has not yet provided any useful results.

Best regards

I believe this is not about replacing defective bricks, but about new bricks/roof tiles that visually match the old ones on the existing surfaces. The residential building itself is supposed to be completely retiled, correct?

Exactly... I just want to maintain the appearance of these roof tiles. Two different types/varieties of roof tiles on a three-sided courtyard don’t really look good. So, I want to replace the old roof tiles with new ones.

A photo would definitely help! Not many people here probably know what these stones look like.

Orange-red, wavy roof tile lying flat on the ground, dirty.

My tiles are not as colorful as shown below, but I think this works as an overall overview.
