ᐅ Mount curtain rods higher or let the roller shutter strap show?

I am currently considering curtains or curtain rods for the living room. Now I’m thinking about the best way to install them. I noticed that our roller shutter cords extend quite high. Is that normal? This only became obvious to me when I started thinking about the curtains. If I mount a curtain rod at the usual height above the window, a piece of the roller shutter cord sticks out at the top. I wonder if that looks good? I could install everything higher, but then the curtains would basically start right below the ceiling.
How have you solved this (for those who don’t have electronic shutters)?

The spelling of "ketchup" (!) was really messed up... Not only ketchup, but also mayonnaise.

I don’t really know why the straps are where they are here...
... But I would generally install curtain rods as high as possible (and keep the curtains as long as possible). I looked into it further and it seems that’s actually how it’s done. That reassures me.

There are curtain tracks that are mounted directly on the ceiling. For example, from Ikea. Thanks, I bought those for the large window. That way, I can use a third bracket on the ceiling, which wouldn’t be so easy on the wall because of the roller shutter box.

Which room is it? Why use curtain rails/poles for windows that are only half-height? That seems too old-fashioned to me. Floor-to-ceiling windows, yes. There are modern solutions. The room is living/dining/kitchen. I like curtains. Our house has a rather rustic style and is not modernly furnished at all. We have pleated blinds in the bathroom, but I don’t want them throughout the house. I think curtains are beautiful textiles and create a cozy atmosphere.
