Hello everyone,

I am planning to replace some windows in our house soon and am looking for suggestions and tips regarding windows.

The only thing decided so far is that there will be aluminum windows.

Before I request quotes, I would like to gather information on what to consider and what specific aspects I should pay attention to in order to avoid being offered poor-quality products.

-> Thermal transmittance (K-value, U-value), resistance classes, frames, laminated safety glass – yes or no, and so on.

Are there standard values typically used in a single-family house?

I appreciate any advice.

This list is really helpful. Our new windows have WK2 rating, which already provides good protection. They also have fittings that are not easy to force open.

With aluminum windows, it is important that they are well made. We have double glazing, which I believe is sufficient. For protection, our windows have been rated WK 2.
