Dear forum,
Today, construction of the walls (Poroton) started at our site. The exterior walls were partially built but not covered afterwards, even though it has been raining continuously. Is this a problem, or are we worrying unnecessarily?
Thank you in advance for your assessment!

As long as the bricks are unfilled, this is not aesthetically pleasing but, to my knowledge, does not violate the installation guidelines provided by the manufacturers of such bricks. If the bricks are filled, you should ask your contractor in writing to cover the bricks during unsuitable weather or at the end of the workday.

Leaving them exposed is negligence. I would call and summarize the conversation about this via email.

It does not harm the brick if it is not filled.

The brick absorbs water and can dry out again. There is no direct damage. However, it is still poor workmanship, so I would note that accordingly.

Hello,
when I look at the cut bricks on the corner, they seem to be filled with mineral wool. This should not get wet. In other words, this is now a bigger problem.

Best regards,
Andreas
