Hello,
our ceilings were cast in-situ with concrete and then plastered.
We assumed the plaster could simply be painted over now.
However, the painter suggested it would look better if a painting fleece was applied before painting. This might require some touch-ups in a few corners.
Does anyone have experience with this?
We think the ceiling plaster looks very good. And even if there were a small uneven spot somewhere, it probably wouldn’t be noticeable.
Therefore, we would actually like to avoid the effort and cost of the fiber fleece...

I have looked at both in finished houses and then decided on fleece without hesitation. For walls and ceilings—the difference was clearly visible.

Pro fleece +1. It also masks smaller cracks (which can and likely will appear later).

Also here... if you don’t want to apply textured wallpaper, definitely use fleece wallpaper... otherwise, you will see every unevenness.

I agree with the two previous commenters. I have fleece installed under the ceiling myself and am happy with it. Neighbors decided against it, and compared to mine, their ceilings look rather unfinished and uneven. I skipped the fleece on the walls in our hallway … time pressure … and will have to catch up later because you can really see everything. Every tiny plaster imperfection. The few extra dollars spent on fleece are worth it.
