ᐅ Plastered ceiling: should it be painted directly or covered with a painting fleece (painting fabric)?

Hello,
our ceilings were cast in-situ with concrete and then plastered.
We assumed the plaster could simply be painted over now.
However, the painter suggested it would look better if a painting fleece was applied before painting. This might require some touch-ups in a few corners.
Does anyone have experience with this?
We think the ceiling plaster looks very good. And even if there were a small uneven spot somewhere, it probably wouldn’t be noticeable.
Therefore, we would actually like to avoid the effort and cost of the fiber fleece...

With a properly plastered concrete ceiling (Q1), we only had it painted, and it looks great. We used drywall panels (on the upper floor) with fleece backing based on the painter’s recommendation.

Thank you for your help!
We will have the first rooms painted without a painter’s fleece (utility room and technical room) and then see how we like it.
