ᐅ Painters did not cover the windows – endless plastering work

Just a quick question... The painters didn’t mask off the windows at our place, so they’re really dirty. We’ve started cleaning them now, and it takes about 2 hours per window... At this rate, we’ll be busy for weeks :-/

Has anyone else had the same problem?

What is that on there? Interior dispersion paint? Or exterior facade paint? Either way, one comes off much easier, but they have to do it. Complaint. Immediately. Send a photo by email in advance if they are careless or inactive. Registered mail with delivery confirmation. Or fax with transmission report. Karsten

Inside, the other trades have always taped off the windows.

Who commissioned the painters? This sounds to me more like they are not from the general contractor but external. In that case, a reprimand won’t help [emoji6]

Of course, you can complain to the painting company. Whether it will have any effect is another question.

Our painters didn’t use masking tape, yet paint on the window was still a very rare occurrence.

Maria, if they dirty the windows and don’t clean them properly, the work will not be accepted and no payment will be made. That simply isn’t acceptable. That’s what masking tape is for.
