Hello

I want to paint our cabinet doors. They have an unattractive brown laminated surface. The laminate is glued on, not stretched, and it is porous.

Do I need to prime and fill the cabinet doors, or just fill and paint them?
Which primer or filler should I use, and what type of paint base (acrylic/latex) would be suitable?

Thank you very much for your help!

I wouldn't paint if the edges are already porous. I would cover or wrap them with fabric or foil instead.

Thank you for your response. The edges are not porous; it is the glued film.
Attached is a photo.

I wouldn’t invest any more in the Fox.

This is a standard built-in wardrobe with three double doors spanning the entire width of the room. I definitely wouldn’t want to do without it. The doors are just not exactly top quality.

Then remove the doors and take them to the vehicle wrap specialist to apply new vinyl. You should have something like that available near you as well. It’s not too expensive. A door is pretty easy for them to wrap. My brother just had an entire boat wrapped for a total of 1900 including tax. So the doors shouldn’t cost much more than 200 each.
