ᐅ Should you paint or wallpaper lime-cement plaster?

Hello,

I have lime-cement plaster throughout the entire house and want to start by painting everything white, possibly adding some accents after moving in.

The idea is simply to paint everything white first or maybe use wallpaper.

What have you done with your lime-cement plaster? Is it worth using silicate paint, or is the difference in indoor climate compared to an emulsion paint rather small? What should I pay attention to?

Does anyone perhaps have experience with wallpapers?

Many thanks to you all

Deep primer "solvent-free 5L (1.3 gallons)" from the Hagebau in-house brand Go/On—is that sufficient?

Should I use latex paint for the bathroom and guest toilet? Or is Renovo Kristallweiß sufficient for this?

Renovo Kristallweiß costs €2.40 per liter (0.26 USD/qt)
Alpina Weiß Original €3.80 per liter (0.41 USD/qt)
StoColor In €3 per liter (0.32 USD/qt)

Just get the cheapest stuff from the hardware store.
But don’t be surprised if it doesn’t cover well, requiring more coats, or if it yellows faster or something like that.

Even a cheap primer is sufficient.

For the final coat, I would only recommend high-quality paints, although I personally cannot recommend Knauf, for example.

What he lists is not cheap. Sto is a professional-grade paint, Renovo Crystal White is of the same quality, just slightly less expensive, it’s Brillux. Alpina is too expensive but not better. All three paints cover excellently and apply well, with a nice creamy consistency. A primer like Go on Tiefgrund is sufficient. It is yellow and dries clear, yellow so you can see where you have already painted.

The idea of using a primer mixed with heavily diluted wall paint is good.
