House Design
Planner: my 5 cents
-planner from a construction company
-architect
-do-it-yourself
What do you like most? Why? The west side, because we have an unobstructed view to the west over fields and forest
What do you dislike? Why? So far nothing
Cost estimate by architect/planner: around €430,000 excluding ancillary construction costs, including slab on grade
Personal budget limit for the house, including fittings: €480,000 including ancillary construction costs (excluding kitchen and garden)
Preferred heating technology: air-to-water heat pump or geothermal with baskets
If you had to give up something, which details / expansions
-could you do without: external venetian blinds, wood/aluminum windows
-could you not do without: the flush-mounted doors
Why did the design end up this way?
It evolved from many previous drafts and matured over time

Would you happen to have a version of your floor plan in higher quality and with more measurements, What exactly is hard to see in the one shared in post #50?

When I download the floor plans and enlarge them, I can’t clearly read the square meters, for example, and the measurements also become "blurry." Is it just me having this problem... strange...No, it’s not just you. The quality isn’t good. However, the dimensions should be clear from the drawing itself. For example, you know that a kitchen cabinet measuring 60cm x 60cm (24in x 24in) arranged in a row of five will total 3 meters (10ft). A bed is usually drawn as 2 meters (6.5ft) in length. So where is the problem? You can’t and don’t want to implement everything at a 1:1 scale anyway. Kingsong paid a lot for the design. You’re getting it here for free—so what’s the issue?

However, the measurements should come naturally when drawing, so you know that a kitchen cabinet measuring 60cm x 60cm (24 inches x 24 inches) arranged five times in a row equals 3 meters (10 feet). A bed is generally drawn as 2 meters (6.5 feet) in length. So where is the problem? You can’t and don’t want to replicate anything 1:1 anyway. Kingsong paid a lot for the design. You’re getting it here for free, so what’s the problem? No problem... why be so sensitive? I simply asked Kingsong if he has it in better quality. If he says no, that’s fine; if yes, I’d be happy. I never claimed that I want to build the house exactly as is... that would be nonsense...

I never claimed that I want to rebuild the house exactly... Then it shouldn’t be a problem whether you notice that the main house is only 13.51 meters (44.3 feet) wide in the extension area instead of 13.55 meters (44.5 feet). I don’t recognize every single square meter figure either. But if you have the approximate dimensions (for example, 13.55 x 9.55 meters (44.5 x 31.3 feet) for the main house and 9.00 x 6.00 meters (29.5 x 19.7 feet) for the garage), you can roughly measure everything else as well. You don’t need the exact first decimal place of every measurement if you’re not aiming to rebuild it exactly.
