House Design
Planner: my 5 cents
-planner from a construction company
-architect
-do-it-yourself
What do you like most? Why? The west side, because we have an unobstructed view to the west over fields and forest
What do you dislike? Why? So far nothing
Cost estimate by architect/planner: around €430,000 excluding ancillary construction costs, including slab on grade
Personal budget limit for the house, including fittings: €480,000 including ancillary construction costs (excluding kitchen and garden)
Preferred heating technology: air-to-water heat pump or geothermal with baskets

If you had to give up something, which details / expansions
-could you do without: external venetian blinds, wood/aluminum windows
-could you not do without: the flush-mounted doors

Why did the design end up this way?

It evolved from many previous drafts and matured over time

Not only that... Additional costs of 17,000 (approximately $17,000) also speak against it.

.. looks good .. as a fan of kitchens and food preparation, I would prefer a combined sink/preparation island and, due to the spaciousness, probably remove the well-planned side-by-side refrigerator? (located within the separated wall sections at the current sink area) .

There will be no shortage of sinks; by the window side, there will be a double sink, and on the island, another sink is planned, with plenty of space between the sink and the cooktop….

And the side-by-side refrigerator must stay.

I also like it. I would probably move the door to the guest room on the ground floor further to the right according to the plan, change the opening direction into the room, so that a wardrobe can fit against the planned wall behind it.

Why? Because of the ice cubes – there are also great alternative appliances for that. I just feel that it takes away from the sense of openness next to the large window area. Perhaps a solution would be to extend the kitchen’s right-hand wall without connecting to the worktop run, either by integrating a side-by-side refrigerator into this tall cabinet wall or by opting for other refrigerator options. Then, along the bottom wall, with some space from the tall cabinet row, you could have a single worktop run extending up to the large patio door. This would eliminate an awkward corner in the kitchen cabinetry and create a more spacious feel, which in my opinion is what your floor plan aims to express.

EDIT: By the way, I agree with matte1987.
