Hello,

we are currently considering buying an end townhouse. A combined heat and power unit (built according to the 2016 Energy Saving Ordinance) is planned to be installed right next to the house, essentially in a garage, to supply all the townhouses on this property. Does anyone have experience with whether it can be heard or if it causes any disturbances?

Best regards

How directly adjacent? At the house wall?

It should be located in a garage that is directly attached to the house.

Fortunately, the gas-powered combined heat and power unit in our area is located far enough away. When you walk past it, you can clearly hear the burner.

If I imagine it being right next to us: Never...

It depends on the device and the sound insulation. As always, some are quiet while others are loud.
