Hello everyone,

In our renovated old building, the windows were replaced about 10 months ago. They are Feba windows – so, as far as I can tell, a pretty decent quality.
After moving in, I noticed that on two windows in the living room, a gap has formed on the outside between the glass and the seal.
This gap is about 3–4 mm (0.12–0.16 inches) wide, allowing dirt and all kinds of debris that float around outside to collect there, which is very difficult to clean.
It also doesn’t look very nice.

Of course, we can live with it – but the windows did cost money and are supposed to last quietly for the next 25 years.

Is this within normal tolerances, or should I strongly claim a repair?
The responsible contractor has unfortunately not yet responded.

Thanks in advance.

What is that rebate between the sash frame and the seal? That dirty white…?
I have never seen anything like it. I even checked on my own house. We don’t have anything like that here.

I've never seen anything like that. I even checked at my place. We don't have anything like that here.

Frame with a stop for the central seal = central seal on the sash.

The topic is settled. The window installer is coming tomorrow to fix everything. He said it involves more effort because the entire pane has to be removed, but of course it cannot stay like that. So he is very understanding.
